Property details

Gardeners Cottage is a wonderfully presented period home located in a central position for touring the Cotswolds. Exposed beams and traditional stonework still evident throughout create the background for this welcoming home. Not short of creature comforts, it is a great base for all to enjoy.

Please note this property has a capacity of 6 (+1 sleeping on a sofa bed). Sofa beds can be added during the booking process (£40 per person).

Layout

Ground Floor
Entrance into a hallway.
The sitting room includes two comfy sofas and an arm chair in front of a wood burning stove, LCD television with Freeview and a DVD player. A selection of books are available.
Three steps lead to the dining room which includes a table and seating for 6. This table can be extended to accommodate 8. There is also a stereo including a CD player, iPod dock and radio. Please note that the fireplace in this room is decorative only.
The fully fitted kitchen includes an electric oven, gas hob, large fridge and freezer, dishwasher and microwave.
The television room is a separate hideaway with a large sofa (also a sofa bed, available for an additional charge) and arm chair and LCD television with Freeview. Please note that the wood burning stove in this room is purely decorative.

First Floor
Master Bedroom with its decorative, Victorian feature fireplace includes a king sized double bed, built in wardrobe and chest of drawers. The en-suite bathroom has a double shower, double wash basin, heated towel rail and wc. Hidden away in a large cupboard you will also find the washing machine and tumble dryer.
Bedroom two with its beamed ceiling and decorative Victorian feature fireplace includes 2 x single beds, a wardrobe and alarm/clock radio.
Bedroom three includes 2 x single beds, a wardrobe and an alarm/clock radio and iPod dock.
The family bathroom includes a bath with an overhead shower, wash basin, heated towel rail and wc.

Outside
The large walled garden is a wonderful place to relax in after a day touring the Cotswolds. The courtyard area includes a table and seating for 6. There is also further comfortable seating for 4.
Please note that there are a couple of ditches in the garden located next to the external walls of the cottage so it is highly advised that young children are supervised in these areas.

A welcome basket of logs is provided.
Off street parking is available for four cars.
A travel cot and high chair are available upon request.

Surrounding local area

Shipton-under-Wychwood is a great base for those who would like a taste of village life. With a short walk you can pick up your morning paper, whilst the two village pubs offer a choice of local ales and delightful food.
Walking opportunities and cycle paths are in abundance in this area and a short drive away Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and the quaint village of Bibury with its Arlington Row can be found.
Local attractions include the Cotswold Wildlife Park, Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Bibury Trout Farm and many National Trust Houses and Gardens.
Day trips to historic Oxford, Roman Bath Spa and Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon can be enjoyed from this property.
