Like its neighbour The Coach House, The Stables has been refurbished to reflect its working heritage and there are some unique and charming touches throughout. With 2 bedrooms each benefitting from en-suite bathrooms, the property accommodates up to 4 guests and with underfloor heating throughout the ground floor which includes a fully fitted dining kitchen and light filled sitting room, it’s the perfect retreat for a relaxing break.

Enjoying an elevated position, Minchinhampton offers stunning views of quintessential Cotswolds valleys and is blessed with some award winning cafes and restaurants, a local butcher, organic dairy and farm shop. A weekly country market attests to the importance of local produce and the surrounding countryside provides numerous walking routes.

Guests can access the garden of the main house as well as wander in your own area: there is an unfenced pond in the private part of the garden some 300m from The Coach House.

Surrounding local area

Spend a day exploring the regency town of Cheltenham, just a short drive from Minichinhampton. Stroll the Montpelier are taking in all the independent boutiques and if your visit coincides with the summer months, there’s a culture of entertainment on offer with jazz, science, music and literature festivals as well as the famous racecourse to the north of the town with a day at the races always a firm favourite.
For lovers of all things equestrian, The Coach House is also within easy reach of both Badminton and Gatcombe.
Just north of Cheltenham, the Prescott Speed Hill Climb is a unique event held every September, when classic car owners get the chance to put their foot to the floor. There are French and Italian themed weekends here in May and an American themed weekend in October.
Outdoor types and nature lovers will enjoy spending time at Westonbirt Arboreturm, particularly attractive during the autumn and their enchanted Christmas event is also pretty special.
Combine a visit to the arboretum with a trip to nearby Tetbury where you can admire some fine architecture whilst discovering many fine antique shops and independent traders (many consider Tetbury the antiques capital of the Cotswolds).
Stately home lovers will enjoy exploring several fine sites in the area including Woodchester Mansion, Rodmarton Manor and Painswick Rococo Gardens.Closer to home and for car free days, Minchinhampton Common is unique in the Cotswolds, a large piece of common land high above the Stroud valleys. People come to the common to simply enjoy the walks and the views and for a more challenging ramble, the Cotswold Way is a 102-mile long path through some of the most beautiful parts of the Cotswolds which runs along the Cotswold escarpment, close to Minchinhampton.
