Nailsworth is surrounded by lovely countryside, Minchinhampton and Rodborough are only a short drive away. There are many walks from the cottage – along the old railway line which takes you to Stroud and up to the woods situated above the cottage
Visit the historic town of Cirencester (15 miles), the capital of the Cotswolds with many unique shops and restaurants.
Outdoor types and nature lovers will enjoy spending time at Westonbirt Arboreturm, particularly attractive during the autumn and their enchanted Christmas event is also pretty special.
Combine a visit to the arboretum with a trip to nearby Tetbury where you can admire some fine architecture whilst discovering many fine antique shops and independent traders (many consider Tetbury the antiques capital of the Cotswolds).
Stately home lovers will enjoy exploring several fine sites in the area including Rodmarton Manor and Painswick Rococo Gardens.Closer to home and for car free days, Minchinhampton Common is unique in the Cotswolds, a large piece of common land high above the Stroud valleys. People come to the common to simply enjoy the walks and the views and for a more challenging ramble, the Cotswold Way is a 102-mile long path through some of the most beautiful parts of the Cotswolds which runs along the Cotswold escarpment, close to Minchinhampton.
